8 Alternatives to MegaUpload You Should Also Try

File Sharing

8 Free File Sharing, Uploading and Hosting Sites As Alternatives to Megaupload – The Mega company has been shut down by the Feds. MegaUpload.com (R.I.P) is world’s best file sharing ever, the best rival of Rapidshare. But since it’s shut down, where will you upload and share your files? Well, luckily there are many other similar sites still do their business. What are they?

File Sharing

#1 Rapidshare

Visit Rapidshare – This site is much likely the strongest rival to MegaUpload and it’s been in business for years. With no file size limit, unlimited storage, unlimited transfer speeds, Rapidshare is the best choice. Also, the shut down of Megaupload does not effect them.

#2 MediaFire

Visit MediaFire – Just like many other file hosting but MediaFire has the best part that others don’t, unlimited simultaneous downloads for free users (non premium). It means you can use download manager app like Internet Download Manager (Download IDM here) for fastest download speed. Personally, this is the best file hosting ever.

#3 DepositFiles

Visit DepositFiles – This one has also been in business for years. Several common file hosting features apply including 2 GB file size, wait times, 5 GB per day download limit, files removed after 30 days of inactivity (or 90 days for registered users).

#4 ORON

Visit Oron – Free users may not download more than 10,000 MB per three days. Waiting time is -for me- too long. But it offers massive storage and fast download speed.

#5 WUpload

Visit WUpload – Offers massive 750GB massive storage. Your files will be removed after 30 days inactivity.

#6 MINUS

Visit Minus.com – Offers 2 GB maximum file size but only 10 GB maximum storage. The best part, as long as you are registered, your files will never be removed.

#7 TurboBit

Visit TurboBit.net – This one is Russian-based company. I’m sure you can imagine / think how SOPA / PIPA will effect them right? For unregistered users, the maximum storage period is 7 days. For registered users, storage time will be automatically added – 60 days starting from the moment of the most recent file download.

#8 LetsCrate

Visit Letscrate.com – Ridiculously easy file sharing site. The best part of this one is its easiness to share. Letscrate allows you to download via direct link with no waiting time. Free users will get 1GB of space, 1000 downloads, but only 50MB file size limit.

I personally hated both megaupload, rapidshare AND most of all hotfile…I used to have alot of my stuff on RS, but then their service went down to crap…then switched to hotfile, who’s servers crashed & lost ALL my files…then megaupload which omg i can’t believe what happened.

now I have all my files on:
    http://www.peeje.com/upload

…decent sized allowance, and it gives my users direct-links…which they love….so far, it’s been better than sonic, MU and HF COMBINED!!!

I guess the main reason for MegaUpload’s demise is its turning a blind eye to requests by copyright owners to take down copyright material. Look at Youtube, it was a haven for pirated material in the early years but look where are they now.

File Sharing will be here to stay, shutting down one and another crops up because there is really a huge market for it. And as long as there is a demand, there will be someone to fill it. And your list just proves this.
