Free Download VLC Media Player (Video Player & Audio Music Player) via Cydia – VLC Media Player app for Applidium used to be in Apple App Store for free dowload. Personally I’ve download it offivially free via App Store but then I was told by my friend that VLC got removed from APp Store by Apple. What’s the reason behind VLC Media Player removal? We don’t know exactly why Apple did that but perharps it’s all about security concern. VLC Media Player is all in one video player that can play almost all audio video format. So you don’t have to convert a video (DVD video, mpeg, flv, etc) to a .mp4 iPhone compatible video format.
Luckily you can still download it from Cydia (which means your iPhone must be jailbroken already). Recently VLC media player version 1.1.1 is free for download in Cydia so do grab one before it is gone again. So if your iPhone is jailbroken, then simply follow these steps to download VLC Media Player:
1- Launch Cydia.
2- Now tap on [Manage] and follow by [Sources] tab.
3- Tap on [Edit] >> follow by [Add] key to add in the new repo URL http://rpetri.ch/repo and tap on [Add sources] button to confirm.
4- Once completed, tap on [Search] and key in [VLC Media Player] and start the searching.
5- You will notice the utility appeared in the list and tap on [Install] to install the app into your iOS devices.
