Manual + Automatic Root Motorola Atrix 2 (how to) – Powered with PowerVR SGX 540 GPU, the Atrix 2 from Motorola is probably one of most wanted Android phone by many people. While Atrix 4G can get easily rooted using SuperOneClick, the Atrix 2 root exploit and tool has newly been discovered.
Created based on Droid Bionic root exploit, Atrix 2 root exploit has been unveiled by a member of XDA forum namely Jimmy273. Curious? Well lets skip the bla bla part and here’s how to root your Atrix 2 Android phone.
Root Atrix 2 Manually
Step 1. – Download needed root exploit (.zip – link below)
Step 2. – Extract the .zip file using Winzip, Winrar, or 7zip.
Step 3. – Open command prompt / Terminal then navigate to the folder / path where you’ve extracted the exploit
Step 4. – Now connect your phone then type following commands in your computer
adb push zerg /data/local
adb push su /data/local
adb push Superuser.apk /data/local
chmod 777 zerg
Step 5. – Wait a couple minutes for the root to be gained successfully.
Step 6. – Once done, type following commands:
adb shell (only type this if you are no longer in shell@targa)
mount -o rw,remount /dev/null /system
cat /data/local/su > /system/bin/su
cat /data/local/Superuser.apk > /system/app/Superuser.apk
chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
chmod 4755 /system/app/Superuser.apk
Root Atrix 2 Automatically In One Click
Step 1. – Download One Click Root Tool for Atrix 2 (.zip link below) then extract it using Winzip, Winrar or 7zip and you should get a file named “runme.bat”.
Step 2. – Do this on your Atrix 2: go to Settings >> Applications >> Development >> then check the USB debugging option.
Step 3. – Now -still on your phone- go to Settings >> Applications >> >> check “Unknown sources” option.
Step 4. – Now connect your phone to computer in “Charge Only” mode.
Step 5. – Now on your computer double-click to run “runme.bat” file.
Step 6. – At this stage you should chill-ax and wait for the tool to do its job rooting your Atrix 2.
