Install CyanogenMod 7.1 Android 2.3.7 On HP TouchPad [Tutorial] – Good news has came from TouchDroid project as the CyanogenMod team. They has released the first alpha build of CyanogenMod 7.1 (based on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread) which is for the HP TouchPad. Now, you can download and install this first alpha version on your HP TouchPad.
Please note you must be caureful of this CyanogenMod 7.1 because as an alpha version there are still compatibility issues with many Android apps. Moreover, the power management of your device isn’t very efficient thus causing the battery life becomes shorter.
How To Install CyanogenMod 7.1 Android 2.3.7 On HP TouchPad

You need to prepare the Novacom for Windows/Mac/Linux by downloading here, ACMEInstaller, CyanogenMod 7.1 and ClockworkMod Recovery by downloading here, and Moboot from here.
Step 1. Install Novacom on your PC >> Extract ACMEInstaller.zip contents to the Novacom folder directory.
Step 2. You have to connect your HP TouchPad to your computer using your USB cable >> USB Drive notification will be appear >> Tap the notification >> Mount HP TouchPad as a USB storage device.
Step 3. Create a new folder on your HP TouchPad named as “cminstall” [directly from computer] >> transfer the update-cm-7.1.0-tenderloin-a1-fullogbugs.zip, update-cwm_tenderloin-1012.zip, and moboot_0.3.3.zip files.
Step 4. Reset your HP TouchPad from Settings > Device Info > Reset. When your screen going dark, hold Volume Up until you see a USB symbol >> Wait until your computer recognize your TouchPad.
Step 5. Open up a terminal application. Use it to navigate to Novacom folder with the required commands (which will be different for Windows/Mac/Linux).
Step 6. Enter the command below after navigating to Novacom folder:
novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller
You are done. Now you are able to use CyanogenMod 7.1 Alpha 1 Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread on your HP TouchPad.
