8-cores AMD Bulldozer VS Core i5 VS Core i7 Benchmark Test – Previously AMD has just unveiled an outstanding achievement to break World’s fastest processor by overclocking 8-cores AMD Bulldozer FX to run at 8.429 GHz Clock speed. Recently, that AMD’s upcoming processor has been tested to benchmark its performance against Intel Core i5 and Core i7 chips.
AMD FX Bulldozer 8-cores vs Intel Core i5 Benchmark
Intel Core i5 Sandy Bridge processor and AMD Bulldozer FX have been used for converting a 5-minute H.264 video in SD resolution. So how is the result?
Interestingly, Intel Core i5 can only hit 188 fps (frame per second) while Bulldozer FX hit 223 frames per second (higher is better). But the question then: is it really fair to compare quad-core cpu vs eight-core cpu? So lets take a look to next benchmark test.
AMD FX Bulldozer 8-cores vs Intel Core i7 980X Benchmark
The next benchmark using a help of two AMD ATi Radeon HD 6790 GPUs in CrossFire mode. The test then held by playing Dirt 3 at 2560×1600 high resolution.
The result is: Intel Core i7 can play the game at 80.9 fps while AMD Bulldozer FX hit 82.8 fps. A little bit faster.
