Updating your Inspired 4G firmware via OTA upgrade is easy. On your phone simply tap on Menu >> Settings >> AT&T Software Update >> HTC Wi-Fi Software Update >> tap the [Check Now] button
Somehow if your current position is at the edge of AT&T signal or if your Internet connection is temporarily slow, simply follow these steps to manually install and upgrade Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread on your Inspire 4G.
Step 1. Download HTC Sync Software (144 MB) and Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread ROM Update (269 MB) to computer- link below.
Step 2. Install HTC Sync software on computer
Step 3. Connect HTC Inspire 4G to PC, using the USB cable >> tap the HTC Sync option on Connect To PC pop-up on HTC Inspire 4G device.
Step 4. Spot the location of the ROM Update that you’ve just downloaded and launch the installation process.
Step 5. Follow the onscreen instructions and click on the Finish button the installation process.
Step 6. Inspire 4G phone will now restart >> initial setup wizard will appear on the display >> let it finish. You better restart.
Voila.. now you should have Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread OS running and up on your HTC Inspired 4G.
