Download Lion DiskMaker – With a one-time purchase you can then install Mac OS X 10.7 Lion on several Mac computers / laptop. But I’m sure it will be so time-wasted if you downloading it again each time you want to install Lion on other machines. Thus we’ll need to create a bootable installation disk or bootable USB Flash Drive (we’ve covered both previously).
Sometimes it will be so painful for those who don’t so familiar with the method. But thankfully to a simple application named as “Lion DiskMaker“.
What is Lion DiskMaker?
Lion Disk Maker is a small application programmed with AppleScript that you can use with Mac OS X 10.6 or 10.7 to burn a DVD or build a bootable USB key from Mac OS X Lion’s Installation programm.
Now you’ll no need to go through painful step-by-step procedure to create a bootable Lion installation DVD disk. Simply download and use this new app.
But one conditional thing you have to follow in using this tool is that, you have to make sure your downloaded Mac OS X 10.7 Lion installation is in /Applications folder. Regarding a bootable USB Flash Drive you want to create, using this tool you’ll only need a 4GB flash drive instead of 8GB.
Another note: You’ll need a Lion Installer named “Install Mac OS X Lion.app” stored in /Applications folder. But if you’ve accidentally wiped it out. So find a file named “InstallESD.dmg” somewhere on internet and follow this workaround:
1- On your desktop, create a new folder. Leave its name “untitled folder” for now,
2- Inside, create another folder that you call “Contents”,
3- Inside Contents, create another folder “SharedSupport”,
4- Put the Lion disk image called “InstallESD.dmg” in SharedSupport,
5- Change the name of the”untitled folder” to “Install Mac OS X Lion.app”. You will get a file with a crossed circle, but it won’t affect the process.
6- Put “Install Mac OS X Lion.app” in the “Applications” folder.
