Change Browser’s Start Page into Windows 8 Metro Style – Microsoft’s next operating system to continue success of Windows 7, will be the Windows 8 which its M1, M2, M3 editions have been leaked out. One of notable features is its Immersive Metro UI (user interface) which is slightly different than previous version of Windows. Previously we’ve also talked about how to change Windows 7 Theme into Windows 8 Immersive Metro UI. And now there is one more tweak allows you to have Windows 8 Metro UI style on your favorite web browser’s start page including Mozilla Firefox, IE, Google Chrome, and Opera.

And this tweak/add-on/plugin/ is namely “Eight” by flatmo1 and has been posted on DevianArt.
Install Eight on Browser
Simply download Eight .zip file then extract it using WinZip, Winrar, 7zip, ALzip, etc. Just my 2 cents, you better extract it to a special folder you might easily remember it. Once done, you’ll see several files there, including a “index.html” file. Then simply open that index.html file with your favorite browser. Eight comes with bookmarks for popular sites like Facebook, Twitter, last.fm, Wikipedia, YouTube, etc. You can also edit the bookmarks by editing .xml file and insert the URL you want. To change the icon(s), simply create a .png image file and put it in the thumb folder. However, you’ll need a basic skill (very basic) to edit a .html file.
Download Eight for IE and Firefox
Download Eight for Opera and Chrome
