The newly trojan is spreading out infecting most Android phone in Russia. This Android trojan has name Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer-A in a form of the standard Android .APK extension. How does the trojan infect and attack Android powered smartphone? The Once Trojan-SMS.AndroidOS.FakePlayer-A is installed, the Trojan begins sending SMS messages to premium-rate numbers without the owners knowledge or consent. Android users must be fully aware as Kaspersky mentioned that the trojaned media player file is just over 13 KB with the standard Android .APK extension. However, the potential attack targets will be wider outside Russia as Android OS is nowe widely used (biggest rival to iPhone running iOS).
Protect Android phone from Trojan, How to?
Being aware and full caution will be helpful, at least as prevention. Just pay attention closely to all the new apps you are going to install on your phone. However, a third-party mobile security app will be needed (or Mobile Antivirus Software). Kaspersky will soon release Kaspersky Mobile Security for Android which will be released early 2011. This surely be the great option. [via]
