Download Windows Phone 7 OS Emulator Unlocked – Just recently Microsoft has released Windows Phone 7 OS Developer Tools (WP7 Dev Tools) January update. Included in that Dev Tools (SDK) is Windows Phone 7 OS Emulator. WP7 OS Emulator is an app to try Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system (OS) directly on your Windows computer. Basically, the Windows Phone 7 Emulator software is intended for developers for testing and debugging their apps.
However after the release of WP7 Emulator tools, a new unlocked OS image leaked, packing the Windows Phone 7 OS by Microsoft in its current stage of development. One of those leaked WP7 Emulator images, in the one who released by Jaxbot from XDA Forum.
How to install Windows Phone 7 OS Emulator?
Firstly obviously you have to install Windows Phone 7 SDK or Developer Tools. Once installed, download the leaked unlocked WP7 OS Emulator tool (link below) and use it to replace following:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.0\Emulation\Images
Don’t forget to backup your original image.
Now open up Windows Phone 7 Emulator from your start menu. You can also watch how it’s done via video below..

Here it is the summarize:
1- Install Microsoft’s Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone CTP [link].
(the process requires system reboot)
2- Download the image file.
3- Unrar / extract the downloaded bin into
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\WindowsPhone\v7.0\Emulation\Images\
4- Go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft XDE\1.0\ and find the XDE.exe.
5- Right click on it, then select “Create Shortcut”.
6- Go to the properties of your new shortcut and modify the Target field as this:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft XDE\1.0\XDE.exe" "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\WindowsPhone\v7.0\Emulation\Images\WM70Full.bin"
7- Run the shortcut and be patient.
