How to Install Froyo ROM on Samsung Transform phone – The Samsung SPH-M920 phone or marketed as the Samsung Transform, is an Android smartphone initially running Android 2.1 Eclair. The Samsung Transform is expected to receive a OTA update to 2.2 (Froyo) in the vicinity of January to March of 2011. But Samsung and Sprint have not been very good in their updates of late.

Luckily, a guy at SDX forum has unveiled Android 2.2 Froyo ROM for Transform and claims it to be a plain port from Intercept. Just like usual, before you applying this hack, you have to root your Samsung Transform phone before you can flash this ROM. How to root Android OS on Samsung Transform? You can try it using one-click root tool, Z4Root app.

Steps to Install Android 2.2 Froyo ROM on Samsung Transform Phone

1- Backup all necessary
2- Download the Recovery tool and FroyoRC2 file (link below).
3- download and flash above recovery.rfs /place it in /sdcard/sdx/updates
4- boot to recovery
5- Backup restore flash > flash recovery
6- reboot system
7- download place in /sdcard/sdx/zip

How To Switch to Android 2.2
1- reboot to recovery
2- open console >> rfs
3- apply zip from sdcard >>
4- reboot

How to switch to Android 2.1
1- reboot to recovery
2- open console >> rfs
3- Backup restore flash >> restore both
4- Backup restore flash >> zImage.img
Assuming you already placed a zImage.img in /sdcard/sdx/update If not download one of my 2.1 kernels extract it here.
5- reboot
