Download RedSn0w 0.9.15b1 + How To Use It For iOS 6 Jailbreak

Good news!! iPhone Dev Team has just released the first beta version of RedSn0w v0.9.15 equipping a bunch of bug fixes and performance enhancements. This latest version is a pretty massive update with a lengthy change log, but the most important aspect about the update is the ability to jailbreak iOS 6 and install Cydia. That’s right. Previously we’ve shared how to tethered jailbreak iOS 6 on A4 devices but that did not install Cydia automatically after jailbreak. Using this new version, you’ll get Cydia automatically installed after the process done.

Best part: the re-restoring and downgrading of select devices from iOS 6 to an older firmware, or in case of re-restoring, from iOS 5.x to iOS 5.x has also been added in this RedSnow version as well, so there’s no need for using lengthy stitching procedures any more. Unfortunately, this version is still NOT capable of jailbreaking iOS 6 on A5+ devices (iPhone 4S, iPad 3, and shinny new iPhone 5).

Also, this is a tethered jailbreak however, which means any time the iPhone is turned off, rebooted, or runs out of battery, it will need to be connected to a computer with a USB cable and booted with the help of Redsn0w in order to be usable again.

Preparation To Jailbreak iOS 6

2- Proceed with caution
3- Make full backup first (you can use iTunes or third-parties)
4- Download and extract RedSn0w

How To Jailbreak

1- Turn the iPhone OFF and connect it to the computer

2- Launch Redsn0w up

For Windows: you need to run it as Administrator
For OS X: right-click and choose “Open” to launch outside Gatekeeper

3- Choose [Jailbreak]

4- Then check the box to install Cydia

5- Now enter into DFU mode when requested:

To do that: Hold Home+Power for 10 seconds, release Power while still holding Home for an additional 10 seconds. The screen should remain black.

6- Redsn0w will run and install the jailbreak, check “Autoboot” to boot tethered immediately after installation

7- iPhone will reboot jailbroken, and Cydia will be available on the home screen

If you didn’t check the “Autoboot” option, simply go back to the main page of RedSn0w, and select Extras > Just boot. A tethered boot will be performed, and you should see Cydia on your Home screen once your device boots back up.

That’s it. You can now launch Cydia to install your favorite tweaks. Do not forget to check a full list of any compatible and incompatible tweaks for iOS 6 here.
