JumpShare: New Drag-n-Drop File Sharing and Hosting Service

Jumpshare

jumpshare There is a new file sharing, uploading and hosting service you should try. Meet the JumpShare.Com which is an easy-to use instant file sharing website featuring drag and drop uploading with support for up to 200+ file formats. Jumpshare is the brain child of Ghaus Iftikhar which is the founder of AddictiveTips. Jumpshare’s interface is kept clean and minimal throughout. Files are uploaded via drag & drop and once they are queued to upload, you can share the link to them immediately. Pretty decent alternative to already established websites with similar service. Those websites all have something in common; they’re meant to store files only to be retrieved later. Downloading a file and viewing it on your computer seems normal but the thing is, normal isn’t necessarily convenient and that’s where a service like Jumpshare makes an innovative mark. And here’s its frontpage interface:

There is no limit on the number of files you can share via JumpShare but the total size of all files uploaded should not exceed 2GB. Currently they are working to launch user accounts which will give users the option for larger storage.

This new web app sounds promising but the only downside is the fact that all files are kept for 14 days (2 weeks) after which they are automatically deleted. Hmm, other services only do that if the file is inactive or getting no access for certain days or months.

There are 203 file types in total which you can upload and share via this service freely. And that’s including most common formats like jpg, bmp, gif, png, mp3, mp4, mov, avi, flv, doc, docx, ppt, and even weird files (geeks must know them) like tiff64, psd, ico, eps, ai, dcr, x3f, dng, hdr, m4a, mkv, ttf, otf, odp, and many others. For now, the service has no user accounts, but the Jumpshare team is working on adding the option. The current absence of user accounts has its pros and cons. The good thing about it is that it makes file sharing file super-fast; you don’t need to go through the trouble of signing up and then signing in each time you want to upload files.
