While Samsung is getting ready to release smaller and more compact version of Galaxy S3, HTC has a step ahead by officially announcing HTC One X+ (One X Plus). The handset that will be available in the Asian and European markets during October will feature HTC Sense 4+ skin on top, as well as being bundled with the latest Jelly Bean version of the Android operating system. The One X+ is officially being referred to as a refreshed version of its predecessor but this one is hoped to take things to the next level and offer even more power and functionality to consumers. The worst kept secret in HTC’s recent history, the One X+, was finally officially announced this morning by the Taiwanese manufacturer.
A Preview
A 1.7GHz quad-core Tegra 3 AP37 processor sits under the hood of the device making sure that content is delivered in a snappy fashion and everything runs lighting fast from invoking apps to browsing through content on the built-in browser. Yet, the 4G LTE connectivity seems to be all the rage at the moment and those who opt for the One X+ won’t be disappointed as the company is claiming that it is up to 67% faster than the original One X. According to Anandtech, the LTE variant of the One X+ will actually be running on the same Tegra 3 quad-core chip, thanks to the Qualcomm MDM9215 baseband modem.
The screen hasn’t changed and is still the same 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, the camera stays at 8-megapixels with 1080p video recording, and the design and dimensions are identical too. To effectively handle that large display and improved cellular data options, HTC has bundled in a 2100 mAh battery that should be able to cope with the increased power consumption and offer up to 50% longer battery life. Additional Sense 4+ features include Tap and Go for Beats Audio, which uses NFC to connect to Beats speakers, plus a new Video Hub that integrates with HTC’s movie streaming service.
