Root Sony Xperia Acro S Made Easy

Do you have Sony Xperia Acro S on hands? Then you should read this guide to gain root access on your phone so you will be able to flash custom recovery, install custom ROM, and install root-only apps on it. That’s why rooting an Android device can also mean as liberating your device.

Simply follow these steps one by one and be careful as we hold no responsibility of what may happen to your device. Proceed with your own risks.

Preparation

1- Make a full backup of all necessary / important data

2- Use this method only with Windows-based computer

3- Ensure your phone’s battery has at least 85% power remaining.

4- On your phone, go to Settings >> Display and set Sleep to 30 minutes.

5- Go to Settings >> Developer Options >> tick the Debugging checkbox

6- Go to Settings >> Applications >> tick the Unknown sources checkbox

7- All necessary drivers software must be installed

Rooting

1- Download these files at first:

- Rootingkit1.0.2.rar [link]
- Flashtool [link]
- Acro HD 2.3.7 firmware: SO-03D_6.0.A.5.12_Docomo.ftf.7z [link]
- Android 4.0.4 firmware: LT26w_6.1.A.1.58 (Taiwan) [link]
- Needed Sony Xperia Drivers [link]

2- Extract SO-03D_6.0.A.5.12_Docomo.ftf.7z and you should have SO-03D_6.0.A.5.12_Docomo.ftf file

3- Install FlashTool on your PC

4- Copy SO-03D_6.0.A.5.12_Docomo.ftf file to C:\flashtool\firmwares folder then delete everything else exists in that folder

5- Launch up Flashtool you’ve installed previously

6- Click on the “Flash” icon then select Flashmode.

7- Select the SO-03D firmware

8- Ensure that everything is ticked under the Wipe section, then click OK.

9- Follow on-screen instructions but instead of pressing the back button, press and hold Volume Down

10- Sit tight and wait for kit to complete then close the FlashTool app

11- Extract Rootingkit1.0.2.rar file to Desktop

12- Connect your Phone to PC

13- Double-click to run “Step 1.bat” file

14- Flash the LT26w_6.1.A.1.58 (4.0.4)_Taiwan_Sony.ftf file using Flashtool

p.s: use the same steps listed in the previous section but this time make sure that everything under the Wipe section is unchecked and the No Final Verification option under Misc is checked. Close the Flashtool app once done

15- Turn ON your device then connect it to PC with USB Debugging turned on.

16- From the Rootingkit1.0.2 folder, run Step2.bat.

17- Once done, your phone should now be rooted.
