Just a few hours ago, Microsoft has released a public copy of Windows 8 RTM Trial build which is its Enterprise edition. For your information, few weeks ago Microsoft has made both Pro and Enterprise editions available for subscribers of MSDN and Technet Network which then getting leaked out via several Torrent networks and popular file hosting services, few hours next after its release. With the release of Public Trial build means anyone can easily and legally download, install and try Win8 RTM either via clean install, dual-boot mode or on a Virtual Machine (Virtualbox, VMWare, etc).
About Windows 8 RTM Trial ISO Image
Before installing this Evaluation Copy (aka Trial), please make sure you firstly understand some necessary notes below:
- The evaluation edition will expire and cannot be upgraded.
- To upgrade, the evaluation must be uninstalled and a non-evaluation version of Windows must be re-installed from your original installation media.
- Upon installation, you will have 10 days to activate this evaluation online. Windows will prompt you to activate. A product key is not required for this software.
- You must complete activation before August 15, 2013, to use this evaluation copy.
- If you fail to activate this evaluation within the 10-day grace period, or if your evaluation period expires, the desktop background will turn black, you will see a persistent desktop notification indicating that the system is not genuine, and the PC will shut down every hour losing unsaved work.
- Make sure your PC / laptop meets at least following specs: 1GHz CPU speed, 1GB of RAM for 32-bit or 2GB for 64-bit, 20GB min. HDD space, DirectX 9 graphics card with WDDM drivers
Officially, Windows 8 is set to arrive on October 26th for general public and will drop for desktop, tablet and smartphone simultaneously. Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions are available as ISO images in the following languages: Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), English, English (UK), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish. Do remember that there is no product key is required to install this Windows 8 RTM edition but you’ll need to activate it within 10 days after installing it in your system.
One notable thing about Windows 8 is the presence of “Windows Store” which is a place where you can browse, download, purchase and install cool Windows 8 compatible apps. The concept is pretty much like iTunes Store for Mac and iOS devices or also Google Play Store for Android devices.
