Making a full backup of your device is really essential especially if you want to do something advanced with your Android device. There are many apps already been released allowing users to create backup of apps, videos, music, sms, and other important data. But honestly, I found none that is capable to make 1:1 backup (full comprehensive backup) except Nandroid feature you can find in your beloved custom recovery tool like ClockworkMod (or shortly CWM).
Obviously, as the tool is part of custom recovery, users need to firstly turn off their device then reboot into recovery to perform either Nandroid backup or to restore any created backup files.
Want some easier method? Do you look for a way to make Nandroid backup without even booting into recovery? Fear no more. Thanks to XDA member “ameer1234567890″ for his creation named “Online Nandroid Backup” or shortly called OnAndroid. This command line -based tool is pretty useful app to perform Nandroid backup without switching off your Android phone or tablet.
This app requires a rooted Android device with Busybox installed.
1. Download and copy zip file to SD card
2. Reboot into recovery
3. Choose install zip from SD card, select zip and flash .
How To Use
1. Open terminal emulator
2. Type su to obtain root
3. Type onandroid
4. Wait and watch
Easier Way To Use OnAndroid App
Luckily, there is another version of OnAndroid with nice GUI so you can simply one-click to backup. Simply download the OnAndroid App from Google Play [link] and accept the magic.
