
Samsung has been too proud with the release of Galaxy S3 which so far the best Android phone with high-end specifications inside. There are already lot of tricks, tips, tweaks, and mods for this handset. Unfortunately, there is still one problem Galaxy S3 users have to experience with, the fast battery drain issue. There is a developed workaround already shared by folks at XDA forum but unfortunately there is no easy fix yet. At least we hope there is another official update soon fixing this issue.

Meanwhile, there are several tips you can follow to minimize draining process as well as prolong your battery life a bit longer.
The Workarounds (Minimalistic Setup)
1- Go to Setting >> Wireless and network >> advanced
- Turn off “Network Notification”
- Set “Keep Wifi on During Sleep” to “Only When Plugged In”
- Set Wifi Frequency Band to 2.4 Ghz Only
2- Still in Setting >> Bluetooth
- Turn Bluetooth off, only turn it on when you need this
3- Setting >> Wireless and network >> More Setting
- Turn off: NFC, Sbeam, and Wifi-Direct
- Use only when you need it
4- Setting >> Wireless and network >> More Setting >> Mobile Network Network Mode
- Set to WCDMA only
- or Set to GSM only
You better use GSM Only, only use WCDMA if you want to browse the web or download something.
5- Go to Setting >> Sound
- Turn off “Sound and vibration”
- Turn off “Keytones”
- Turn off “Touch Sounds”
- Turn off “Screen Lock Sound”
- Turn off “Haptic Feedback”
6- Go to Setting >> Display >> Brightness
- Set Brightness to automatic
- Set “Screen Time out” to 30 seconds
- Turn off “Smart Stay”
- Turn off “Auto Rotate”
- Set “Touch Key light Duration” to 1.5 seconds
- Set “Screen Mode” to “Movie”
- Turn on “Auto Adjust screen power”
- Turn off “Display Battery Percentage”
7- Go to Setting >> Wallpaper
- Use wallpaper with dominant Black or Red color
8- Go to Setting >> LED indicator
- Only turn of LED for Charging notification
9- Go to Setting >> Power Saving
- Activate all available options
10- Go to Setting >> Account and Sync
- Turn off all available features (unless you need this)
11- Go to Setting >> Location services
- Turn off all available features (unless you need this)
12- Go to Setting >> backup and reset
- Turn off “Backup My Data’
13- Go to Setting >> Dock
- Turn off all available features (or use only what you need)
14- Go to Setting >> Date and Time
- Turn off “Automatic date and time”
- Turn off “Automatic time zone”
15- Go to Setting >> Developer Options
- Turn off “Window Animation scale”
- Transition “animation scale”
The Tips (General Methods)
1- Do not frequently charge your phone via PC’s USB, use regular charger
2- Do not frequently re-calibrate your phone’s battery
3- Do not ever over-charge
4- Avoid over-using your phone that makes battery hotter
5- Avoid using “auto task killer” apps
6- Avoid using “antivirus” apps
7- Do not unplug your battery for keep if it’s in empty state
The Bottom Line is:
Use only necessary settings and features. Above tips and tricks are minimalistic settings which means not a must. Every user has different needs and preference so use it wisely.

Why even bother having the S3 after you’ve done all that? I get two full days out of my S3′s battery. I say use it how it should be used and have fun.
