Are you a daily flasher and always being hungry for new custom ROMs? If you are SGS3′s owners then you have not much option. Previously we’ve seen CyanogenMod 9 comes to Samsung’s newer flagship. Now thanks to XDA member “Faryaab” who brought another option of ROM to choose for. It is unofficial built of AOKP ROM which is an AOSP-based ROM bringing faster and sleek Android 4.0.4 custom ROM on your Galaxy S3 handset.
Featured with extensive abilities and options, this AOKP for Galaxy SIII ROM is using same stuff of Team Hacksung’s device tree. It means several features it has are pretty similar to the CM9 ROM (Currently Nightly).
Even its developers confirmed that this AOKP ROM works flawlessly with almost all functions of the phone work, there are also several minor issues like FM Radio not working, LED is not being lit when charging and problems occur when users try using flash in camera app.
Installation
Flashing this ROM is theoretically easy as long as your SGS3 is rooted and latest CWM is installed (this tool makes rooting and flashing recovery easier). Also do not forget to create full Nandroid Backup.
Download the flash-able AOKP .zip file and G.Apps. Put those files in the root of your SD card.
Once you are ready, you need to firstly flash Team Hacksung’s latest build then do wipe data / factory reset. Once done, flash “aokp_i9300-ota-eng.Faryaab.zip” then flash “gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip”. Finally reboot and you are done.
