The great Samsung Galaxy S III aka SGS3 has finally received its first firmware update. Quite interesting though, it brings several bug fixes and performance enhancement tweaks. Besides, a folk at XDA has posted a nice video proof showing how awesome is SGS3 GT-I9300 performs to connect to other devices such as a USB flash drive, an external hard drive and video game console controllers (in this case Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii).
Galaxy S3 First Software Update
There no major features been included or at least notice-able within this Samsung’s first software update for their new flagship handset. Once installed, this update pack will bump its firmware to version LF2 with new stability technology and performance improvements.
This update is already released via Over The Air update mechanism (OTA) for unlocked SGS3 owners who live in UK.
With only 9MB file size, this OTA update also brings fixes to the slow response time of the Home button, RAM management improvements, and fixes to Cell standby battery drain issue.
Galaxy S3 External Devices Connectivity
every bit as freaking sweet as it sounds
Posted by senior XDA member “NZtechfreak”, the video above shows us how well the GT-I9300 playing a game using external controller, well in this case is Sony Play Station 3 (PS3). But he also claimed that such kine of innovative trick of SGS3 may also work with other game controllers like Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360.
The most impressive part is its compatibility for USB On-The-Go (OTG) which allows users to connect almost any USB devices. The word “any” here I mean the most common stuff like USB Flash Drive (UFD aka USB Stick), external harddrive, or even keyboard and mouse.
So my final word is: Awesome!!..
p.s: Just purchased Galaxy S3, now I really can’t wait the postman delivers it to me. Wait for other SGS3 news.
