Yes it’s finally. While iH8Sn0w has included iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak flavor within his popular Sn0wBreeze, the iPhone Dev team has just finished their work bringing that untethered jailbreak exploit to RedSn0w, a world’s famous Mac and Windows-based tool.

This new updated version is compatible to put pwned following iDevices: iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, iPad 3, 2, 1, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, Apple TV1 and Apple TV2.

How To Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 Untethered

Step 1.
- Download the corresponding version of RedSn0w (Mac / Windows).
- Extract the .zip file (in PC you can use Winzip, Winrar, etc)
- You may also need to download iOS 5.1.1 .ipsw file

Step 2.
- Connect your iDevice into computer
- Now launch RedSn0w 0.9.12b1 up
(On Windows 7 / 8 make sure you run it as Administrator)

Step 3.
Once launched, you’ll see Redsnow’s familiar GUI presents you with two buttons: Jailbreak and Extras. Simply hit that “Jailbreak” button to start.

p.s: For iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 3G, 4G, and iPad 1 may need to put the device into DFU mode.

Step 4.
RedSn0w is using the same weapon as Absinthe to put A5 devices like iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbroken. So in the next steps you’ll see that this tool will use Rocky Racoon. Simply wait this tool to do its job.

Step 5.
That’s may take some times but once done (and if it’s successful) you’ll see a dialog box appears saying “Jailbreak was succesfully installed”.

That’s it. Now all you have to do is just wait your iPhone to reboot and doing one last time respring. Once done hit that [OK] button.

Some users reported getting “Error 2000″ during jailbreak using RedSn0w for Mac. Try using its Windows version (on a PC of course) and see if that may help your problem.

Personally I still prefer Absinthe more than redsn0w because it is fast and much more faster if you read this trick.
