Talking about storage devices, you may think you love your HDD, SSD or Thumb Drive (USB Stick) but I’m sure you will never abandon the “old school but really necessary” media: Disc like CD, DVD, and Bluray. Well, at least so far distributing and installing an OS from CD/DVD is the easiest. Hence, sometimes you may need to create your own DVD containing all data you need.
Most common tasks users dealing with CD/DVD are:
- Creating, Editing, and Compiling disc images
- Mounting disc images
- Burning disc images
- Mounting disc images to a virtual drive
- and converting disc images from one format to another
Unfortunately, there are not so many tools and utilities can do all of those tasks for you. But fear no more, there is an all-in-one software known as “WinISO” with so many advanced features.
WinISO Computing Inc. has designed this tool to fulfill your need in dealing with all image formats like .ISO, .NRG (Nero), .MDF and .MDS, .COD, .IMG and .DVD.
Curious? So lets take a spin with it..
Download Installer
WinISO Standard is available for free download and anyone can use it freely but without registering WinISO can only be used for images under 500MB.
Installing
Once downloaded, launch the installer by double-clicking “winiso.exe” file and you’ll see something like this one.

There’s nothing weird about installation process but it’s just straight forward.
Once installed, you’ll be asked to enter registration code although you can still use it freely as trial-ware by clicking “Later” button.

Luckily, our team has received free full version registration license code (which we’ll also share it with you). Thanks to Sandy from WinISO Tech Inc for sharing and givingaway the license.
First Impression

First UI impression is really matter for an app. And WinISO really has very dead simple interface making its users easy to understand how to use this app. Honestly saying, this is my first time using this app and according to my point of view, I can figure it out how to use this software in about 5 seconds.
Creating New Image File

As what I said, it needs only 5 seconds for me to understand this all-in-one ISO editor app. During its initial launch, the app already presents you with a new black image file which you can add any files on it. Of course it uses its default settings. So lets say you wish any specific image formats like UDF, HFS+, DVD-Video, or Hybrid CD/DVD images, simply hit that little arrow button in the “New File” icon. As you are hovering your cursor to each image format, you’ll see its information in the bottom bar.
Adding Files Into WinISO

How to add files and folders you want into your new image file? To do that, you can use that “Add Files” and “Extract” buttons but wait, there is much more easiest way by simply “drag-n-drop” from Windows Explorer.
Saving an Image File to .ISO, .NRG, .MDF…

WinISO supports most common image formats like .ISO, .CUE, .BIN, .NRG (Nero), .MDF, .MDS, .CCD, .IMG, and .DVD. Lets say you have already compiled all the files you wish to store in single image file, simply hit that “Save” button and a dialog box will appear which then you can define in what format your disc image file will be saved.
Create Image File From CD/DVD

What if you want to create a single image file from an optical drive like CD, DVD, or Bluray? Well obviously WinISO gets your wish covered. Simply hit that “Make” button and a dialog box will appear. Now firstly select the source CD/DVD/Bluray drive. Once done, also define the output format as well as its file name. Once all set, hit that “Ok” button and the process will start in a breeze.
Mounting And Burning an Image File

So lets say you’ve created your very own disc image file. Once you hit the Save button and it’s been saved. Simply hit that “Mount” button to test how your disc will be mounted in a disc drive but this one is virtually.
Or if you’ve just downloaded an image file (like Linux distro and so on), simply hit that “Open File” button to open the file in WinISO followed by clicking “Mount” button.
Once you are sure it is ready to be burned on CD/DVD, go ahead click the “Burn” button.
Convert From One Disc Image Format To Another

So here it comes the best and my favorite feature of WinISO: Disc Image Converter. This awesome app also allows its users to convert lets say it from .ISO to other formats like .NRG, .MDF, .MDS, .CUE, .BIN, .CCD, .IMG and .DVD. Normally you will need to mount that .ISO file or open it in supported app then re-create disc image file in another format you wish. With this feature, those steps is simplified so you’ll be able to convert .ISO to other formats quicker and easier.
